Position Description

Your Opportunity:

TechSource is hiring a full-time Structures / Low Observable (LO) Aircraft Mechanic to conduct daily aircraft flightline and back shop aircraft structures and LO operations in support of critical mission work for our client. You will work closely with other mechanics and maintenance personnel on aircraft structural and LO coating repairs. You will identify cracks, breaks, holes, and dents in aircraft sheet metal structures and determine appropriate repairs from technical data to restore components to original strength, as well as perform LO restoration following applicable technical data. You will also read and interpret blueprints and determine dimensions, angles, and contours in performance of structural repair. This position is in the Las Vegas, NV area. Typically, you will work on day shifts; occasional night shifts and travel will be necessary.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure proper methods and procedures are used to maintain the aircraft structures and LO performance, including operating ground-based diagnostic tools to determine LO signature defects.
  • Train, certify, and supervise other aircraft structures and LO mechanics.
  • Conduct aircraft flightline and back shop duties on various aircraft systems.
  • Repair, modify, fabricate, and apply corrosion protective, LO coating and markings to aircraft structures, equipment, advanced composites, and bonded structural parts.
  • Assemble structural parts and components using special fasteners and adhesives to meet requirements for preserving structural integrity and low observable qualities.
  • Assess damage to aircraft structural components and low observable coatings.
  • Check repairs for serviceability according to specifications and technical publications.
  • Review, update, and follow maintenance procedures and processes.
  • Document maintenance performed in aircraft logbooks, USAF (United States Air Force) specific aircraft maintenance forms, such as AFTO 781 series forms, and use electronic maintenance information systems (MIS).
  • Perform periodic and other scheduled inspections.
  • Assist with preparation of engineering technical assistance requests.

What You Will Need:

  • Active Secret (S) security clearance required. (Ability to obtain and maintain additional clearance as required by the government is also necessary.) Active Top Secret (TS) DoD clearance preferred.
  • 5 or more years of aircraft structural repairs, including composite repairs, alterations, installations, fabrication, and modification (required). 5 or more years of aircraft LO maintenance experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and detail-orientation skills.
  • Ability to pass color vision test.
  • Ability to climb, stand, stoop, bend, push, kneel, stretch, and walk around hangar, flightline, and offices to perform routine work duties.
  • Ability to travel 30% per year (all deployments are CONUS).
