Machinist is responsible for the setup, and operation of a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts from the raw material stage to finished goods ensuring customer specifications are met. Employee will be required to setup and run Haas CNC mills for a wide variety of materials including various plastics and metals with both large and small quantity runs. The ideal candidate will be able to operate independently and verify the quality of their work with the use of traditional inspection equipment. Employee is not required to provide their own measuring equipment. Programming experience is not required but is a plus.

Skills & experience:
  • Follows all company established methods, policies, rules, practices, and procedures to ensure employee safety, product quality and efficient operations.
  • Set up machine, including necessary adjustments according to order specifications.
  • Edit CNC programs as needed
  • Make necessary adjustments to machines to order specifications.
  • Develop, monitor and maintain production reports.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Observe and listen to machines or equipment to diagnose malfunctions and determine need for adjustments.
  • Maintains and lubricates machines and equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Read measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, height gage, bore gage and groove micrometers, and measure and inspect parts.
  • Maintain a clean area and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • To qualify for employment at Mativ, candidates will need to complete a pre-employment physical, background check and drug screen (post offer acceptance).

Education/Certifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and 3 years related experience or a combination of education and experience. CNC programming experience preferred.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience setting up CNC Mills
  • Ability to measure parts and determine if drawing specs have been met
  • Experience with Haas Controls
  • Good math skills with analytical abilities
  • Strong reading skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • High attention to detail
  • Regularly required to use hands and stand for long periods of time.
  • Lifting and moving up to 50lbs
  • Attention to detail.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • CNC machine skills
