What we need:

The Sales Support Consultant plays a critical part in enabling the BCBSMA strategy to drive profitable growth, create exceptional consumer experiences and be the plan partner of choice. This internally and externally-facing role will work closely with the Sales Directors in National Sales and Service to develop and execute strategies for channel partner relationship management, pipeline development, event planning, and end to end sales process.

Your Day to Day:

  • External and internal-facing role representing BCBSMA within the sales community including in-house sales executives, account managers, account service consultants and external stakeholders such as brokers, consultants and accounts
  • Identifies, scopes, prioritizes and determines approach for process improvement opportunities of varying size, type, and complexity to satisfy ongoing demand for increased sales support and cross-functional collaboration
  • Resolve problems by quickly assessing unique and complex operational issues, project team challenges, client management situations, and/or organizational dynamics and proactively employing appropriate actions
  • Partner with Sales Directors to lead BCBSMA response to large and complex RFP's. Specific activities may include: Scrub the RFP and submit internal request forms, provide guidance to internal departments (i.e. PDS, U/W, etc.), manage follow-up questions back to the prospect, and conduct benefits review to identify deviations.
  • Support development of consultant relationships by coordinating meetings/lunch and learns, planning key events, managing meeting content and logistics, and development of consultant education strategy
  • Partner with Sales Directors to develop a strong multi-year pipeline. Qualifying potential prospects through disciplined discovery, identifying key decisions makers and obtaining contact information, and contacting potential prospects and/or their consultants

We're Looking for:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver work and provide in fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Strong record of operating effectively within a matrixed and tenured sales organization
  • Relentless desire to learn, explore, and probe, to creatively source and solve operational problems
  • Ability to translate Sales strategy into a executable, operational and communicable components

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com
  • 5+ years equivalent experience in Sales Support

Salary Range: $82,890.00 - $101,310.00


The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
