Job Description

Danfoss in Tallahassee, FL is searching for a creative and innovative student to fill the role ofThermal Simulation Intern for the Summer & Fall of 2024.This position offers the option of hybrid or remote work.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Create aerodynamics designs of centrifugal compressor
  • Create air-solid models from compressor conceptual designs
  • Carry out high fidelity computational fluid dynamics modeling of compressor design to predict the performance of the compressor design
  • Compare the predicted results with test data from lab
  • Carry out other tasks as directed by function manager

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's, master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerodynamics, or similar.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, starting immediately.
  • Working knowledge of CAD packages
  • Experience with MATLAB or Python is preferred
  • Working knowledge of CFD software packages such as ANSYS CFX or Fluent
  • Excellent communication skills (with internal/external stakeholders)
