General Position Summary

Under the supervision of Senior Software Engineer or Engineering Manager, develop new software, recommends adjustments to resolve software issues, improves the functionality of existing software, and ensures the design, application, and maintenance of software meets the quality standards of Sakura as outlined in applicable ISO and IVD standards.

Essential Job Functions

Computer Systems & Programming Activities

• Assists Senior Software Engineer with software development and maintenance of products and components within Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL server, window device driver, XAML, and CSS.
• Assists with documentation which will be targeting the release of instrument software.
• Under supervision, completes a variety of coding projects.
• Participates in project cross-functional teams, and completes special assignments as required.
• Obtains structured information and data from Senior Software Engineer to support coding projects.
• Assists in development test protocols, test plans and code that is written.
• Documents completed coding tasks.
• Stays current on tools, methodologies, technologies, and language features.
• Maintains communication with other software engineers and cross-functional team members.

Information Management & Reporting Activities

• Communicates and interacts with Principal Software Engineer and / or Senior Software Engineers concerning Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL server, window device drivers, XAML, and CSS.
• Prepares periodic reports for Senior Software Engineers, as necessary or requested.
• Attends and participates in cross-functional team meetings and other task force, as needed.

Essential Job Requirements

Education

BA or BS degree in computer science or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.

Experience & Minimum Qualifications

• Must have 2 - 4 years of work experience in design and development or equivalent experience.
• Must have coding experience in C#, XAML:, CSS, and SQL. Experience coding in C++ and JavaScript is a plus.
• Must have working knowledge with Visual Studios, SQL Servers, and Windows applications. Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a plus.
• Must have experience in working and coding with databases.
• Must have debugging skills.
• Must have experience working with Embedded systems.
• Must have a working understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Must be tactful and flexible with diverse personalities.

Physical Requirements & Working Environment

• This position requires the employee to frequently sit. In addition, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and analyze written information.
• Ability to successfully respond to multiple work pressures.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to individuals and groups.
• Ability to communicate verbally in person and using a phone.
• Ability to listen for understanding and assist in problem solving.
