The Brown Research Group within the Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, and Epidemiology department in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at Fred Hutch is actively seeking a highly motivated staff scientist with a keen interest in infectious disease research, biostatistics, and epidemiology. The staff scientist will contribute to ongoing clinical trials conducted in collaboration with the research group, including HPV vaccine trials funded by the Gates Foundation and HIV prevention trials conducted by the HIV Prevention Trials Network. He/she/they will work under the supervision of Dr. Elizabeth Brown and collaborate with other researchers at Fred Hutch as well as external scientists.

Responsibilities
    Utilize data from completed trials and studies to lead analyses and publications based on individual research interests and as needed for collaborative projects.
  • Provide mentorship support.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement advanced statistical and epidemiological methods.
  • Communicate research findings through presentations at conferences and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical trial and other study designs.
  • Assist in grant writing and reporting.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. in biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related field.
  • Strong background in statistical methods and data analysis.
  • Experience with infectious disease research preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., R, SAS, Stata).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully as part of a diverse team with a commitment to equity and inclusion.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $72,000 to $185,000 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This position may be eligible for relocation.
