General Summary:

Under limited direction, responsible for managing and maintaining the data repositories that is required to extract, transform, cleanse and manage data in support of the organization's analytics ecosystem.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks:

  1. The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
  2. Manage DevOps-focused work for diverse projects, including ongoing support and maintenance of data stack, analytics and software lifecycle.
  3. Research and plan system architecture, design, and automation in support of in-house-developed software, platforms, data and analytics products.
  4. Confer and deliberate with personnel from across the org chart, including DBA, Developer, and non-technical staff, where needed.
  5. Manage the release and maintenance of open and close source software and projects.
  6. Complete capacity planning as well as make recommendations to management about infrastructure decisions.
  7. Mentor DevOps engineers on problem solving techniques as well as skills development and transfer own knowledge to them at appropriate intervals to develop scale on DevOps.
  8. Manage availability and performance problems for clients; automate resolution to prevent re-occurrence.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences or closely related field or equivalent related professional experience is required.Experience may replace degree requirement. Additional certifications are preferred.
  • 8 years of experience in aDevOps/Admin role.
  • Must have 3+ years of professional experience managing complex systems infrastructure and workflow.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps/Agile/Scrum environments and development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with open technologies and related Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, JIRA, including Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Ansible, and others.
  • Experience successfully managing and deploying reliable data systems and data quality management system\
  • Have experience managing complex projects with tight deadlines.
  • Strong hands-on experience with configuration management, cloud orchestration, and automation tools.
  • Passion for stable and secure systems management practices including performance tuning and monitoring.
  • Proven ability and desire to learn new technologies and develop solutions using a variety of integration technologies, patterns and approaches.
  • Ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills to influence others.
  • Proven ability to complete capacity planning as well as making recommendations to management about infrastructure decisions
