Job Description
Role: Citrix Engineer
Duration: 6 Months
Work location: Chicago, IL (3 days onsite per week)

Contractor's Role:
  • Support Engineering and Operations of Citrix VDI and W365 virtualization environments
  • Lead and participate in engineering projects on the VDI Team
Qualifications (must haves):
  • 10+ years of progressive experience designing, implementing, and managing Citrix solutions
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Experience operating with minimal supervision while using experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  • Specific Remote Access Administration including:
  • XenDesktop
  • XenApp
  • NetScaler
  • Windows 365
  • Nutanix
  • Security
  • Advanced knowledge of Citrix supporting technologies
  • Active Directory
  • SAML
  • Networking
  • Azure
  • Firewall
  • SCCM / Intune
Daily Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Engineering Projects
  • Environment review and maintenance

1. Support Engineering and Operations of Citrix VDI and W365 Cloud Desktop
2. Create, manage and maintain standard Virtual Gold Images and templates
3. Perform technical support, troubleshooting and problem resolution including and not limited to operating system issues fixing and reinstallations, Software image installations, End users data backup and restore, Client computing applications installations and issue resolution
4. Oversight of group policy including review of existing policies and proposed changes to ensure on its functionality.
5. Perform Xen Desktop/APP administration to support the development environment.
6. Work with other team members (VDI, End User Computing, Network, Storage, Application) to resolve issues quickly and put measures in place to mitigate reoccurrences.
7. Provide production support, project work, and level three incident and problem management for all virtual desktop devices.
8. Deliver proactive actions to maintain high level of customer satisfaction
9. Support Risk, Controls, and DR activities in the VDI environment
10. Support and participate in VDI template creation and application packaging
11. Maintain ongoing communications with support teams regarding application issue resolution
12. Ensure correct installation, configuration, use and maintenance of products, applications, and tools
13. Assist with administration of Virtual/Desktop/Laptop Management servers and infrastructure applications including VDI, patch management, encryption technologies Anti-virus, incident/Request management, etc.
14. Follow all relevant department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
15. Follow daily operations in the IT Service Management & End User Support areas to ensure continuity of work
