Role Description

Reporting to the A/P Manager, the Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our accounts payable department and identifying / leading process improvements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and can quickly identify issues and propose resolutions effectively. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and providing all required monthly and annual reporting information.

What you'll do:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the A/P department, including supervising staff, processing A/P when needed, managing workflows, issue resolution, and training new hires.

  • Monitor open invoice report, ensuring invoices are coded and paid timely.

  • Ensure timely resolutions of internal and external inquiries.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Procurement and Warehouse to resolve issues effectively and implement corrective action plans timely.

  • Onboard new vendors in the system, ensuring the necessary tax and banking information have been received and set up accordingly.

  • Prepare the annual Form 1099s, ensuring compliance with Federal guidelines.

  • Close A/P at the end of the month and complete account reconciliations timely.

  • Oversee the reconciliation of vendor accounts and ensure that any discrepancies are identified and resolved.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

  • Prepare requested information for the annual audit.

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.

  • 5+ years of accounts payable experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, including 3-way matching.

  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Oracle Fusion or similar ERP software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
