HDR is hiring a Senior Transportation Planner/Travel Demand Modeler for our Jacksonville, Florida office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage travel demand model development, update, application, and maintenance
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to collect land use and transportation data, existing and future
  • Lead model calibration and validation efforts consistent with Florida and national standards
  • Lead model execution and applications for various transportation projects involving multiple modes
  • Present model results using tables, charts, and maps
  • Conduct quality control review of deliverables.
  • Maintain proper project filing and documentation
  • Provide technical assistance to model users
  • Assist with conducting model user group meetings
  • Provide in-house staff support to FDOT
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of travel demand modeling and transportation planning experience
  • Expertise in multiple travel demand modeling software (VISUM, TRANSCAD, CUBE, etc.)
  • Experience with both trip based and activity based models
  • Excellent data analysis skills using ArcGIS, R, and other software
  • Ability to produce high quality GIS maps and other visuals
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized. Highly responsive to requests from clients.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Northeast Regional Planning Model (NERPM) and FDOT Work Program.
  • Professional registration such as AICP, EIT, PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP
