UDR , Inc. is now hiring an Analyst - Operations - FP&A to join our team at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Focused on supporting the company's operational and financial performance through data analysis and market related research. Provide a combination of financial analysis, operational analysis, budgeting/forecasting, and transactional underwriting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Support and manage the company's annual budgeting process for the entire multifamily portfolio, which establishes the internal and external benchmarks the company is expected to achieve.
  2. Analyze financial and operational data of the multifamily portfolio to identify upside and risk across markets and assets to ensure the company hits or exceeds the annual budget.
  3. Reforecast identified upside and risk within financial models that allow the Executive Team to better understand where the company expects to perform on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  4. Analyze revenue, expense, and CapEx data to identify areas of opportunity to drive incremental dollars to the company's bottom line.
  5. Analyze the viability of revenue enhancing and/or expense savings initiatives and work with team members in the field to implement these initiatives that allow the company to outperform the annual budget and our public REIT competitors.
  6. Update and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports that provide internal stakeholders with key operational and financial metrics regarding performance.
  7. Perform ad-hoc operational and financial analyses for the Operations, Finance, and Investor Relations teams.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Knowledge and appreciation of business concepts and requirements. Knowledge and understanding of business research principals, process, and techniques. Ability to apply policies and procedures to solve everyday company issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop an in-depth understanding of company markets and identify and communicate relevant information. Knowledge and understanding of business research principles, processes, and techniques. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent people skills are required.
  • Ability to think conceptually and translate concepts into practical applications solutions and decisions. Ability to demonstrate and execute practical and effective solutions to problems. Ability to analyze data and recommend strategy. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Perform duties that require considerable initiative, independent judgment, and strong communication skills. Must have the ability to manage workload, to develop efficient and effective processes that impact the entire organization, and to communicate with managers and staff at all levels of the organization. Ability to travel, when applicable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and presentations. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of managers, associates, and the Executive Team. Ability to work in conjunction with Company managers, property management teams, vendors and associates.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management and office management techniques with strong skills regarding spreadsheets, word processing and database applications. Strong experience and demonstrated aptitude with MS Excel, and some experience with MS Access and business intelligence tools. Ability to quickly learn new computer systems financial systems and business processes. Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Some bending, stooping and stretching. Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Extensive research and required ability to sit for long periods of time. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate or Economics: or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  2. Minimum one to three years' experience in a real estate position, preferably REIT experience with a concentration in finance and operations.
  3. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license unless otherwise noted.

Salary Range:
* $70,000.00/yr. - $80,000.00/yr., depends on experience

Bonus Potential:
* Eligible for 10% annual bonus potential, based on personal and company performance
