entara Norfolk General Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, located in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Vascular and Interventional Procedures Unit - PVI Endovascular Lab.

Hours/Shift:
Full Time Day Shift Position, schedule procedures are postedMonday - Friday 7:30am to 5pm.Weekend, holiday, and overnight call will be required.30-minute call response time.

Department/Position Overview:
Our department includes 25-bed prep & recovery unit and 8 procedure rooms.
Nurses are cross-trained in circulating for interventional radiology, neuro, ultra sound and vascular procedures. We are looking for a strong nurse due to the autonomy and critical thinking needed in this role.

The procedure nurse provides hemodynamic monitoring,administers moderate sedation, and assist the interdisciplinary team during procedures to ensure excellent patient care.

The procedure nurse assists in the Vascular & Interventional Centerspre-op and recovery area to ensure a safe and efficient transition for our patients.

Experience:Critical Care, Emergency room, or PACU experience preferred.

Job Summary

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications:

N-2YR - RN-Associate's Degree (Required), N-3YR - RN-Diploma (Non-degree) (Required), N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), N-6YR - RN-Master's Level Degree (Required), N-DN - RN-Doctorate Level Degree

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - North Carolina, Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP)
