This part-time County Caseworker position works in our Crisis Intervention Program to provide on-call emergency services to adults or children and their families. Crisis Workers provide rapid responses by phone or in person to resolve precipitating stress. Provide intervention, assessment, counseling, screening, and disposition.

Services are provided to adults or children and their families who exhibit an acute problem of disturbed thoughts, behavior, mood, or social relationships. Provide rapid responses, by phone or face-to-face contacts, to crisis situations that threaten the well-being of the individual or others, to include but not limited to: intervention, assessment, counseling, screening, and disposition. Collaborate with other DBHS departments; attend and report at staff meetings within the DBHS Agency or any external community-based agencies and organizations. Develop working relationships with community psychiatric units by implementation of 201 and 302 procedures. Responsible for completion of timesheets, expense reports, and documentation. Participate in completion of notes and other necessary service documentation for each consumer served. Assure records are maintained. Attend staffings, meetings, and trainings as needed. At times, may provide coverage in Somerset County. Perform other related duties as required. On occasion, staff may need to work hours outside of the set work week to complete projects, meet work demands or in the event of an emergency.
