- Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and one year of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
- Experience in basic laboratory techniques and excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Prior research experience molecular biology, neuroscience, stem cell biology or another relevant area is highly desired but not necessary.
- BS, MS or equivalent degree in Biology, Neuroscience or a related field
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organization and planning skills
- Ability to take accurate and detailed laboratory records
- Ability to work selflessly in a team environment Laboratory experience
- Excellent computer skills, including usage of MS office
- Ability to perform basic calculations (percentages, ratios, etc)
- Some weekend work is required (e.g., for training animals for behavior)
