AP Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented AP Specialist to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and verify invoices from vendors and suppliers in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy, authorization, and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and process payments to vendors via check, EFT, or other approved methods, maintaining accurate records of payments made and outstanding balances.
  • Manage vendor information, including contact details, payment terms, and tax information, resolving any discrepancies or issues as needed.
  • Reconcile accounts payable records with general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions, including invoices, payments, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to accounts payable processes.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders regarding accounts payable matters.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, as well as internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or related role.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
