Title: Safety and Compliance Representative

Location: Onsite - Jacksonville

Schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off, Weekends/Holidays

Salary range: $18-$22 per hour, depending upon experience.

What work will you perform?

To provide regulatory compliance service and after-hours assistance to the owner operators of Landstar System, by ensuring total compliance with state, federal and Landstar regulatory policy. Provide office clerical assistance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Verify log violations.
  • Perform verification audits on operators' logs to ensure accuracy and notify BCO's of discrepancies.
  • Educate and counsel operators, agents, and/or contractors on Hours of Service regulations and how to stay compliant
  • Administer corrective action process up to and including cancellation of operator lease
  • Monitor operators on ELDs to ensure Hours of Service Compliance
  • Maintain spreadsheets and various reports
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls, and provide quality customer service
  • Assist other departments with operator compliance issues
  • Handle after hours calls for various Safety and Compliance departments
  • Perform Random Drug Test notifications

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 years' experience in administrative work or similar.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Safety/Compliance within the transportation industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
  • Ability to have difficult conversations.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision using regulatory guidelines available.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Strong communication skills in all modes
  • Ability to effectively counsel and educate others.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, helpful
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
