Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Division Controller to oversee the financial operations of our division. The Division Controller will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. They will work closely with the senior management team to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and previous experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads. Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis and explanations.

  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data. Conduct periodic audits to identify weaknesses and implement improvements.

  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

  • Cash Management: Manage cash flow and liquidity, including cash forecasting, monitoring banking activities, and optimizing cash balances.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.

  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, providing financial expertise and analysis as needed.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with ERP implementation and proficiency in financial management software
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
