Full-time 40 hours. Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

The Radiology Image Service Representative works with outside providers and patients to appropriately distribute copies of radiology studies and reports.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Answering phones and reviewing phone messages to appropriately image requests.
  • Utilizing tools such as EPIC, Visage, and CD burning systems for studies and reports.
  • Obtaining written authorization in hard copy form from patient's wishing to have their images sent to another location while not personally arriving to the image service center.
  • Greeting patients in a professional manner both in person and on the phone.
  • Checking photo identification for those patients who personally arrive to the image service center to pick up their images.
  • Printing hard copy reports for all requested exams.
  • Utilizing CD burning system to create image discs or send images via the cloud.
  • Documenting in the EPIC module the sign out with date and type of studies.
  • Utilizing US mail for routine image requests, and FED EX for urgent requests.
  • Assists in communication requests from outside providers by answering and transferring phone calls as needed.
  • Adapts to the workflow plan set out by support services supervisor and radiology program manager as necessary to a changing environment.
  • Consistently demonstrates effective communication, both written and verbal, with all departmental and hospital staff.
  • Ensures that all clinicians are aware of any issues regarding processing requests and make sure they are handled in a timely manner.
  • Participates in workflow and adapts the workflow as necessary to a changing environment.
  • Monitors the equipment performance and takes the appropriate measures to have the problem resolved (i.e. arrange service & repairs)
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required to ensure efficient operation of the department and quality patient care

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • BCLS, preferred.
  • Medical field experience preferred
  • Staff adheres to all C.A.R.E. Standards
  • Must be able to multi-task and think in a proactive manner.
  • Work in an area that can be noisy and have temperature/ humidity variations.
  • Continuous sitting and standing
  • Able to lift 25 pounds.
