Position Title: Sr Financial Analyst

- Salem, NH
- 1st Shift
- Monday - Friday
- Minimal travel up to 10% to include overnight stays within region.

The Senior Financial & Business Analyst will provide support to the Regional Finance department for all activities related to the following major areas: financial analysis, internal reporting, annual budgeting, forecasting/modeling, capital analysis, business warehouse, power BI and BPC reporting, and other ad hoc analyses.
  • The Senior Financial & Business Analyst will partner with the Regional Vice President of Finance and Region Leadership to provide analyses and insight related to regional trends in such areas as: sales by major product group, pricing, margins, operating costs, capital expenditures and efficiencies.

  • Reports and analyzes on regional financial and operating metrics, such as: same-store sales, gross margin, same-store and operating expenses, working capital, asset utilization, capital expenditures, etc.

  • Work closely with the regional company business/finance support teams to better understand historical financial results, trends and validate forecast assumptions.

  • Provides support and analysis for sales and marketing related to customer price realization (i.e., measurement of periodic price increases and other pricing initiatives designed to enhance profitability).

  • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes; working closely with Regional and Division business/finance support.

  • Perform extensive financial modeling in support of the Region as well as Divisional FP&A requests.

  • Builds strong relationships with the Divisional Finance management teams

  • Support the Region's efforts to improve utilization of data warehouse reporting tools, power BI reporting tools, and Google Sheets.

  • Build strong relationships with the Division and Regional management teams.

  • Work closely with Director of Profitability & Pricing as well as Region leadership on developing and tracking EBITDA improvement opportunities as it relates to operating efficiencies

  • Supports the Regional finance organization through goal-setting, evaluations, positive feedback, discipline, and on-going coaching ensuring activities are performed within Airgas policy

  • Supervise daily work for one business support analyst direct report

  • Other projects/initiatives as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field

  • Minimum of three years financial reporting/financial analysis experience in positions of increasing responsibility demonstrating leadership

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and juggle between regional, divisional, and local management demands.

  • Experience with Power BI, Business Warehouse is required; experience with BPC or SAP is a plus.

  • Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills and assume increasing responsibilities in a rapidly-changing environment.

  • Strong organizational, team-building, and communication skills and the ability to work and navigate within a complex matrixed organization.

  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage technology related tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function; exceptionally strong analytical skills

  • Experience with understanding complex process flows and driving process improvements

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to guide and influence senior leadership.

  • Must be capable of operating independently, but readily seek the counsel of others, when necessary.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Google Slides (presentation software) as well as a demonstrated ability to utilize financial applications within ERP software (SAP)

  • Strong business and financial acumen

  • Employee will be required to observe and assess information received via computer.

  • Requires use of computer, telephone and operation of a motor vehicle.

  • Must have reliable, appropriate transportation.

  • Job may require visitation to various Airgas and customer sites, which have varying environments/conditions, layouts, and accessibility.
