Job Description

We're growing and looking for a Project Manager to join our Industrial Controls team in Champlin, MN. If you thrive on turning challenges into successful customer solutions, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities

  • Manage various trades and projects within approved budgetary and time constraints.
  • Provide technical and management advice and assistance to project team members and union field personnel.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by ensuring Egan's safety policies and goals are communicated and followed on assigned projects.
  • Write scope proposals based on estimates.
  • Spear-head projects to meet and exceed budgetary and timing goals for projects assigned.
  • Facilitate and resolve problems and issues associated with assigned projects from inception to closeout.
  • Order equipment and materials.
  • Attend jobsite and office staff meetings.
  • Close out jobs with maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and foster long-term relationships with internal and external customers through quality performance of work.
  • Track sales activities and forecast sales opportunities in CRM.
  • Visit jobsites and customer sites regularly.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 7+ years of electrical industrial controls experience and/or trade-related experience and knowledge.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must obtain OSHA-30 certification within six (6) months from date of hire (if not already certified).
  • Electrical installation experience and/or prior supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Understand electrical design and engineering estimates pertaining to the food processing and manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledgeable in industrial automation, controls integration, UL 508A Panel Shop Solutions, and familiarity with OEM and manufacturing controls related business opportunities.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical control and power schematics.
  • Excellent problem solving, leadership, communication/collaboration and financial management skills required.
  • Knowledge of job scheduling and customer timeline management.
  • Ability to present to both internal and external groups.
  • Strong organizational skills to deal with competing customer needs.
  • Ability to learn and promote other areas of the business.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Self-directed/independent.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines and foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations and react appropriately.
  • Willingness to learn new ideas and concepts, and convey solutions in a problem-solving manner to customers and employees.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, and be easily understood, to work with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage 10 or more people at a time.
  • Strong team-oriented demeanor and effective communicator.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Google Suite applications such as Sheets, Docs, Gmail, and Drive.
