Job Description

Produce, stage, and ensure quality of mail produced by:

Operating printing equipment - work within a team, ensuring the group's goals are met by printing and documents in the correct order. Fine tune equipment and operations for maximum throughput. Load and unload printers' paper stock and consumable supplies, and work with other shifts and departments.

Operating inserting equipment - set-up mechanical inserter, produce quality mail pieces at established throughput requirements, and assist and train other associates as required.

Understanding and ensuring all other aspects of producing and mailing quality mail pieces are met including but not limited to - staging mail appropriately for PSI which includes wrapping and correct paperwork; placing service calls for machines when appropriate; evaluating workload and operating appropriate machines given volumes and SLA's

This is an on-site 2nd shift position, Sunday through Thursday, 5pm to 330am MST. There is a 4-6 week training period on first shift Monday through Friday, 7am-530pm.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produce quality mail pieces at established throughput requirements while running and loading automated inserting machine. Load surveys, cover letters, and envelopes in the correct order. Work with tech support and troubleshooting to maximize efficiency. Unload finished mail pieces. Conduct quality inspections of sampled mail pieces.
  • Setup mechanical inserter. Install correct fold plates, adjust paper path guides, etc for each mode. Clear machine and prep for new jobs.
  • Operate the printing equipment. Print jobs in sequence and move materials to inserters in order. Troubleshoot problems and ask for assistance as needed. Work with team members to assure paper trays and other supplies are adequate. Keep machines running at 90% up-time.
  • Conduct quality checks and complete documentation including downtime logs, pallet tags, daily mail pickup slips, etc as appropriate
  • Evaluate workload and prioritize production accordingly - if low/out of work to print move to inserter and vice-versa
  • Assist other associates - Operator will be trained on all equipment in the department. Operator will serve as back up for other operators when needed.
  • Ensure that work area remains organized and clear from production debris.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of Print/Insert experience.
  • Basic computer skills will be a plus.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours.

Education

  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.

The expected base hourly rate for this position is $18.00 per hour, plus $1.00 shift differential while working on 2nd shift. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
