Geotechnical Associate Project Manager

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Associate Project Manager to join our Service Line Geotechnical in Nashville, Tennessee. Are you ready to contribute your education and knowledge to meaningful projects? Join us at S&ME!


As a Geotechnical Associate Project Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of geotechnical exploration and design.


Your Day-to-Day:

  • Coordination and performance of field geotechnical testing and construction observation
  • Coordination of laboratory testing, performance of geotechnical engineering analyses
  • Preparation of geotechnical proposals, engineering reports, and design documents
  • business development, client management, technical QA of reports/documents, and mentoring/supervision of staff.

What You Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field
  • A minimum of 4 years of geotechnical engineering work experience
  • A Professional Engineer license in Tennessee
  • The ability to execute technical aspects of a wide range of projects including highway, power, heavy industrial, commercial, and retail projects.
  • Basic working knowledge of construction plans and specifications
  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to learn commercial software applications
  • An Engineering Intern certification, a plus

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:

  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
  • Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
