Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Scheduler to be based out of Hobart, Indiana. Reporting to the Materials Manager, this person will be responsible for scheduling production and managing production inventories.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure that customer orders are scheduled in a manner that reduces backorders and meets customer needs by partnering with Demand Planning.
  • Supply a schedule for the work centers to follow that best meets customer demand.
  • Answer demand messages and print orders.
  • Utilize daily production compliance reports for managing daily workloads and communicating manufacturing status.
  • Enter and maintain all data regarding inventories produced or reconciliations of raw material received. Production data is entered into LEGACY systems (MAPICS, Syteline, etc.)
  • Manage creation of new part numbers.
  • Manage material flow of incoming raw and WIP material to support the production schedule.

What you'll bring:

  • A minimum of two years of related experience with increasing levels of responsibility and a background in inventory management.
  • Lean/Kanban experience preferred.
  • JDE, AS400, and/or Syteline experience preferred.
  • CPIM certification preferred.
  • Advanced excel preferred.

Within 3 months, you'll:

  • Complete your Atkore immersion program.
  • Understand how to complete routine clerical tasks and enter data into LEGACY systems.
  • Create orders and print production tags.

Within 6 months, you'll:

  • Support the Scheduling Manager in weekly scheduling and monthly forecasting processes.
  • Manage material flow of raw material and WIP.
  • Monitor schedule compliance and escalate issues.

Within 12 months, you'll:

  • Review work center capacity, production rates, and provide feedback for capacity/throughput updates to Operations Management.
  • Participate as a key team member in Project Milestone for the Hobart facility.
  • Support BOM and routing maintenance within LEGACY systems.
