Job Description

Position Description:

As a Program Coordinator II you will coordinate Kern National Network (KNN) Learner program(s) by scheduling events, tracking participation, assembling program-specific information, handling communications and following departmental guidelines.

Primary Functions

  • Independently execute program activities related to the KNN Learner Network programs (e.g., KNN Student Chapters, the KNN Becoming series, Resident programming, and KNN Student Conference)
  • Coordinate and monitor activities to ensure alignment with KNN goals.
  • Support the Director of the KNN Learner Network, and other departmental leaders on programming related to KNN Learners
  • Bring a relational approach to work with external program participants and within the KNN Program Office.
  • Independently craft KNN Learner communications and seek review as needed.
  • Serve as liaison with faculty, administration, other departments, affiliated institutions, and national organizations as it relates to KNN
  • Learner undertakings.
  • Develop and maintain database(s) to track, schedule, and record activities related to the, program(s).
  • Provide information, support, and problem solving on a wide range of issues for leaders, faculty, staff, and learners.
  • Coordinate recruitment of speakers.
  • Support contracting related to KNN Learner program activities.
  • Create brochures, flyers, handbooks, and other programmatic materials.
  • Assist with presentation submissions relevant for KNN Learners.
  • Support research activities related to KNN Learner undertakings (e.g., coordinate or provide guidance on IRB as needed).
  • Participate in role-specific travel as needed (estimated bi-annually or quarterly).
  • Coordinate assessment and evaluation activities.
  • May monitor program budgets and lead or oversee the work of collaborating staff.
  • Act as a fully contributing member of the KNN Program Office.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

Knowledge of computers, clerical procedures, customer service standards, collaboration, and information management. Organization, time management, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Mon-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.


Position Requirements:

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Minimum Required Experience: 3 years
