Job Summary

The Senior Director, Field Analytics & Effectiveness is a member of the Field Force Effectiveness leadership team reporting into the Executive Director, Field Force Effectiveness. This is a highly visible leadership position leading a team responsible for sub-national and ad-hoc analysis & reporting inclusive of production reporting platform delivery to customer facing teams. Successful candidates will bring expertise of Industry leading analytical practices, influential leadership working across a complex matrix environment (including sales, operations, marketing, senior leadership, commercial analytics, IT partners, legal, compliance, and others) and experience managing, coaching, and leading a team with individuals from diverse background, and vendor management. This individual will be a thought leader who will influence the cross functional leadership across commercial organization (that includes Field

Force, Marketing, Market Access etc.) in addressing the barriers impacting the field performance through objective data driven insights. The individual will be responsible for providing strategic insights to the executive leadership team regarding field performance, effectiveness etc. The individual will be heavily involved in evolving the Customer Facing Analytics & Reporting capability at Otsuka. These efforts will be ongoing over time, focused on delivering an exceptional end user experience, and include reporting UI/UX, requirements gathering, utilization and usage analysis, and report rationalization as needed. These areas of focus are not exhaustive. Ideally, this candidate would possess a breadth of experience across field leadership and commercial operations in the pharmaceutical industry along with a demonstrated track record of success applying analytical thought process/ methods to direct/drive deep analysis based on business context/situation, record of strong influential leadership, and ability to clearly communicate the aligned direction/insights to the Field leadership team.

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Set and achieve the vision for field reporting and ad hoc business analytics at Otsuka, inclusive of development of roadmaps for future facing capabilities in line with evolving data and technology capabilities.
  • Ensure Field Leadership support via data driven insights on a continuous basis that are actionable and aligned with organizational objectives/goals
  • Thought leadership and ability to influence and align across multiple functional teams
  • Work with ambiguity and lead deep dive analytics on Business Performance in collaboration with cross-functional teams whose members consist of Brand Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Market Access, Compliance etc.
  • Ensure team is proactively identifying key positive and negative drivers or influencers of geography level performance across all Therapeutic areas
  • Strong analytical skills with the capability to appropriately define issues, questions and data; to comprehend quantitative methods and analytical techniques; and to think creatively about different ways to analyze data and information
  • Ability to anticipate internal and external business challenges and recommend process, product, or service improvements
  • Familiarity with principles of data warehousing and data stewardship
  • Instrumental in developing and establishing new analytical processes and capabilities that enable meeting the needs of the stake holders
  • Work closely with other analytical colleagues across Forecasting, Brand analytics, Promotional Analytics/Planning teams to cross pollinate analytical capabilities, insights etc.
  • Flexible in adapting to dynamically evolving business needs and ability to approach challenges creatively Qualifications/ Required

Knowledge/ Experience and Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience across a breadth of commercial functions in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate across multiple functions and levels
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple, cross-functional projects simultaneously
  • Intellectual curiosity and appropriate analytical experience to understand, influence and own the analytical solutions produced by the team. History of proven analytics track record would be preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively to non-technical business stakeholders and influence sufficient investment in Ipsen's data ecosystem
  • Ability to manage a team consisting of multiple members from diverse backgrounds
  • Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is a must
  • Advanced educational qualifications (Master's, PhD) preferred

Minimum $201,369.00 - Maximum $301,070.00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting salary for candidates hired to perform the work. Other elements may be used to determine actual salary such as the candidate's job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in role.
