The Global Data Office

  • Led by Visa's first Chief Data Officer, the Global Data Office coordinates high-impact, complex, company-wide projects related to data business strategy, critical investments, policy development, and marketplace execution. Working closely with Visa's Chief Privacy Officer, the Technology organization, the wider data community, and the full set of Visa's global lines of business, the Global Data Office is evolving Visa's data-related work with momentum and enthusiasm. Global AI & Data Innovation Division

  • The newly established Global AI & Data Innovation division within the Global Data Office is unleashing new opportunities at Visa by 1) developing and driving the business strategy for AI / Gen AI and Data Innovation, 2) driving the development of novel AI / GenAI / Data Science technologies, 3) leading data product development to create value for clients and partners, and 4) driving innovative application of AI / data science to solve business problems among other Innovation activities.

  • The Global AI & Data Innovation division includes the following teams: Visa Functions and Products Data Science, Visa Data Products (Visa Analytics Platform, Merchant & Government Solutions), Data Science Innovation, AI Governance, GenAI Data Assets, AI Project Management Office, and Innovation Initiatives.

Job Description

  • AI / Generative AI represent a remarkable technological advancement with profound impact on the corporate landscape and a promise of increased worker efficiency. However, its effective utilization is contingent upon the availability of high-quality content for the right AI solutions and the right internal audiences.

  • The Global Data Office is leaning into new Gen AI opportunities and seeking talent to enable transformation. The strong strategic and operational management of Visa documents and data for use with our emerging set of Gen AI tools will be critical.The Sr. Director role will have an exciting set of responsibilities at the frontier of driving Gen AI adoption and information stewardship.This role will be a critical catalyst for innovation in the use of Gen AI.

  • Reporting to the VP for Global Artificial Intelligence and Data Innovation, and part of Visa's Global Data Office, the new role will be responsible for establishing and guiding a team of full-time employees and short-term contractors to execute on strategic priorities for enabling access to Visa's valuable document and data assets. The Sr. Director role will drive an immediate readiness agenda for driving access to Visa documents and data assets as well as developing the longer-term strategy for Gen AI adoption and the required supporting cultural transformation.

  • Serve as a member of the Global AI and Data Innovation leadership team, and will be a critical catalyst for data innovation, maximizing the internal impact from AI and Gen AI technologies and capabilities in a way that aligns with our Data and AI principles.

Essential Responsibilities for this Job

  • Lead the establishment of clear, evergreen framework to categorize and index all Visa documents (across various enterprise-wide platforms) for the right audiences thorugh internal AI applications.

  • Define a structured approach to addressing the component parts of our document framework, formulate relevant hypotheses and supporting project work steps

  • Champion a document stewardship program to support Visa's productivity goals

  • Drive effective implementation and evolution of go-forward document governance for access and use based on document content, confidentiality, and access requirements.

  • Create a world-class team of engaged professionals excited to write the next chapter of Visa's AI & Data Innovation.

  • This core unit that can quickly mobilize, embrace agile work, and execute with exemplary teamwork. The team should be known for their impact on employee productivity and enabling colleagues.

  • Lead cross-functional coordination of a sophisticated internal employee education roll-out campaign and ongoing support program

  • Drive change through creative, novel, disruptive, but highly practical and implementable solutions to the challenges faced

  • Partner with Technology to develop the required technological solutions to automate key document management functions and the evolving Visa Library capabilities to support our Visa Gen AI tools

  • Monitor and understand global AI solutions landscape for deployment and application of internal knowledge to bring the best solutions and best practices to the Visa ecosystem.

  • Lead the hunt, onboarding, management, and adoption of internal and external solutions to enterprise document and library management needs

  • Need experience working with knowledge management and Generative AI solutions

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Ideal candidates would have experience with the implementation of knowledge frameworks and solutions for GenAI applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Office Tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of AI / Generative AI / Data Science.
  • Advanced project management skills with the use of Project Management software.
  • Curious and lifelong learner who keeps us to date on emerging trends and technology.
  • Successful track record of operating cross-functionally, ideally in a federated enterprise design.
  • Proven ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects with evolving requirements.
  • Team player possessing a strong drive to add value to the business direction.
  • Ability to influence the organization in order to make strategy happen.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 192,300.00 to 250,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
