How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Position: Automation Technician
Target Base Hourly Range: $30 - $36 (DOE)

Perform service work on plasma, oxy/fuel cutting systems, robots, and other related equipment. This will include installation, preventative maintenance, onsite troubleshooting and service, component repair and performing component upgrades while ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repair as needed on equipment sent in to the Airgas welder repair facility in Anaheim, CA; ensuring machines are tested, calibrated and run according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Perform maintenance and repair as needed on automation equipment at customer facilities; ensuring machines are tested, calibrated and run according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Ensure proper service documentation is completed in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment by ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed both at Airgas and customer facilities.
  • Communicates professionally with all branch personnel and advanced fabrication team.
  • Identify sales and service opportunities at existing and prospective customers. This will be accomplished both individually and working with other Airgas associates.
  • Ability to work closely with customers as the Company's primary contact person to build confidence and deliver for the customer and Airgas.
  • Maintains accurate and timely expense reports.
  • All employees are expected to perform any reasonable work request that falls within the qualifications but not specifically described.

  • Associate Degree Welding (AAS), Technical School; work experience, electrical and electronic knowledge could supersede educational requirements.
  • Experience operating large equipment such as CNC tables, high voltage electrical equipment and power sources. Comfortable working in a variety of manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must maintain a clean MVR.
