Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Administrator - Web/Portal Administrator to join our IT team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the smooth operation, security, and performance of our web-based systems and portals. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in web administration, server management, and troubleshooting, along with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

    Administer, configure, and maintain web servers, portals, and related systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to web servers, applications, and databases.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect web-based systems from cyber threats, unauthorized access, and data breaches.
  • Install, configure, and update web applications, content management systems (CMS), and related software as needed.
  • Collaborate with development teams to deploy new applications, updates, and patches to web servers and portals.
  • Manage domain names, SSL certificates, and DNS configurations to ensure proper functionality of web-based services.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity and minimize downtime.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and training purposes.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in web administration and cybersecurity.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, including troubleshooting website issues and answering technical inquiries.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Web and Portal Administration: Extensive knowledge of web and portal administration and experience working with web-based solutions, including web servers, content management systems, and portal platforms.
  • SharePoint Administration: Experience with SharePoint administration, including site collections, web applications, and service applications.
  • Web Technologies: Knowledge of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web services.
  • Windows Server: Experience with Windows Server, including active directory, group policy, and server virtualization.
  • Security: Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing secure solutions, including knowledge of security protocols, authentication, and authorization.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage projects and lead teams, including experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including technical and non-technical staff.
  • DoD regulations and policies: Familiarity with DoD regulations, policies, and procedures related to information technology, security, and privacy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the field and have a broad understanding of different aspects of IT, including hardware, software, networking, and security.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Experience with IT service management practices and a deep understanding of security and risk management.
  • Must have SharePoint developer/design experience.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Familiarity with government and industry standards, such as NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA, is also desirable working in the Department of Defense.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Sun Certified System Administrator (SCSA) are also valuable.

The salary range for this position is $69,000 to $79,000 per year.
