Job Summary

Contributes to the creation, administration and analysis of both external and internal surveys. Conducts statistical analysis, data modeling and forecasting. Transforms aggregated raw data to make it suitable for analysis and modeling. Runs and modifies existing SQL queries to meet reporting needs

  • Prepares comprehensive reports, visualizations, and presentations to provide data-driven insights for university leadership and stakeholders.
  • Validates the accuracy and integrity of all reports and analyses to ensure the information provided is reliable.
  • Conducts advanced statistical analyses, data modeling, and forecasting to identify trends and patterns in institutional data.
  • Develops and implements robust procedures to transform and aggregate raw data into formats suitable for in-depth statistical analyses and modeling.
  • Writes and modifies complex SQL queries and stored procedures to efficiently extract data from various source systems for analyses.
  • Performs in-depth analyses of data from the NCES-IPEDS system to benchmark the university's performance against national trends and standards.
  • Trains and mentors new staff on best practices for assessment, quality improvement, data analyses, and survey administration.
  • Generates accurate enrollment, degree, and credit hour projections for the university community to support strategic planning and budgeting.
  • Designs, builds, documents, and maintains the data structures and systems that power the university's institutional research and NCAA reporting.
  • Collaborates with university units to design and implement impactful business intelligence dashboards to support data-driven decision making.
  • Coordinates the integration of advanced R-based statistical models with the university's business intelligence dashboards to enhance data visualization and analytical capabilities.
  • Serves as the project lead for data extraction, analysis, and reporting related to university facilities, scheduling, and space utilization, providing insights to optimize resource management..
  • Maintains the comprehensive data dictionary for the university's data warehouse, ensuring data elements are properly defined and documented for efficient access and usage.
  • Supervises the activities and tasks related to the student assessment of instruction program, ensuring high-quality data collection and reporting for continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four (4) years of appropriate experience or a Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience.

Desired Qualifications
  • Appropriate areas of specialization will include mathematics, statistics, computer science.
  • Ability to understand, run and modify SQL queries and stored procedures, use of SPSS, SAS, MS Excel and /or Access for analysis and report creation.
