ABOUT THE JOB

The Coordinator, Surgical Supply will maintain and monitor medical supply inventories in the Surgical Services Department. Assist with the facilitation of capital purchases and purchases for new surgeons. Monitor supply formulary, supply standardization, and evaluation of cost-effectiveness of new supplies and equipment. Function as point of contact for supply vendor representatives.

SALARY RANGE $19.15 - $30.23

SHIFT Monday - Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate special order procurement for obtaining surgical implants, equipment, and supplies that are imperative in the day-to-day functioning of an operating room. Maintain responsibility for monitoring the service and repair of equipment.
  • Coordinate and perform analysis of new supplies when requested for patient care.
  • Coordinate the purchase and tracking of capital equipment for the department.
  • Work with hospital departments to plan and control equipment and supply acquisition and inventory control.
  • Meet and confer with outside vendors and sales representatives from outside companies.
  • Review complaints and problems arising from the procurement of materials, work to resolve such problems, and recommend appropriate action.
  • May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of surgical services experience.

Supervisory experience.

Surgical Technologist or Sterile Processing certification.

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
