Responsible for coordinating curriculum and professional development efforts for the Office of Teaching and Learning. Manages the systemic development, evaluation, and revision process for all curricula within the Office of Early Learning Programs, Birth through Five. Coordinates professional development efforts on behalf of all offices within Teaching and Learning for administrators, school-based professional developers, and classroom teachers. Collaborates in cross departmental work to support City Schools teachers by working closely with Executive Director of Teaching and Learning and Executive Director of the Networks, and serves as a member of the cross functional leadership team implementing systemic reform.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinates curriculum development with the content directors in all content areas
  • Coordinates professional development efforts on behalf of all offices with Teaching and Learning for school-based professional developers and classroom teachers
  • Collaborates in cross departmental work to support City School teachers by working closely with the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning and the Executive Director of Networks
  • Serves as a member of the cross functional leadership team implementing systemic reform
  • Participates in local, state and national conferences and meetings to remain current on policy and best practices and to represent City Schools
  • Works with Teacher Support Services (TSS) to update curriculum materials
  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school boards policies and the professional standards.
Maximum Salary 113401.00
Minimum Salary 87921.00
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in education or a related field. Degree must be from an accredited college or institution
  • Three years of Instructional Leadership experience
  • Maryland State Department of Education Advanced Professional Certificate with Admin I certification
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating curricula and assessments in multiple content areas
  • Ability to create and manage online registration tools for professional development
  • Knowledge of planning and facilitating professional development in a large, urban school system
  • Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, deadline regulated atmosphere
  • Ability to develop, analyze and present high-level quantitative data
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Interpersonal skills that ensure effective team building
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain appropriate relationships with a wide range of stakeholders: administrators, teachers, Network team members
  • Proficient in the use of technical computer applications, including Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft SharePoint and Baltimore City's Teacher Support System (TSS)
