Mission:

Quantum Research Intl. is seeking a Systems Administrator to support CAOC-Compute Architecture Operation Center in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for activities related to system administration. Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization
  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of server hardware and software
  • Monitors and controls the performance and status of the network resources. Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system
  • Develops and promotes standard operating procedures. Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation

Requirements:

  • BS degree preferred in Computer Science/ IT, MIS, Systems Administration, Engineering, or equivalent field of study with 7 years of experience for mid-level Systems Administrator, in lieu of degree 9 plus years of experience with certifications may be accepted for with experience in following areas:
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of Windows Server Administration, to include but not limited to VM specification and creation, Active Directory administration, Windows Server Update Server, Group Policy, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), Internet Information Services (IIS) and Intune.
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills to include query local Windows event viewer, and M365 Security logs.
  • Must be very familiar with Kerberos, CIFS and NFS file share, RDP, WMI, and PowerShell.
  • Must be familiar with MFA(Multi-Factor Authentication), Single Sign On, M365 authentication, and Azure AD.
  • Configuration management using Ansible. Application specific profiles deployed and maintained via roles
  • Selected candidates must be able to obtain/maintain DoD Security clearance. Additionally, applicants will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Windows Skills

  • Powershell scripts to perform every day maintenance tasks across multiple sites.
  • Windows imaging using WinPE
  • Windows Inventory management
  • DNS, DHCP scope management
  • Monthly Patching and firmware maintenance
  • Active Directory GPO
  • SQL server
  • M365 administration
  • Server monitoring

VMWare Skills

  • Deployment of Vcenter and Vsphere, Vsphere monitoring and management across multiple sites

Linux Skills:

  • Creation of maintenance of Linux desktop image based on Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Kerberos authentication via Active Directory Centralized user/group store on LDAP backend Automatic mounting of AD home directories using CIFS utilities
  • Creation of company CIS Level 1 compliant Red Hat / Ubuntu server images
  • Configuration management using Ansible. Application specific profiles deployed and maintained via roles

Additional Skills:

  • SolarWinds network and systems monitoring
  • Duo multi-factor authentication
  • NetApp storage configuration and management
  • Commvault backup solution

Certifications:

  • Applicable Certifications include but are not limited to any of the following: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Net+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Linux+, MCSA/MCSE
