Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a project manager to support our manufacturing team at Eglin AFB, FL. A successful candidate must understand cruise missile manufacturing practices. The candidate must work with manufacturing engineers of various disciplines to analyze cost and schedule performance of the contractor. The selected candidate will support a variety of reviews and various technical interchanges and analyze contractor performance against cost and schedule requirements. The selected candidate must assess risks of meeting cost and schedule goals for the program and work with the manufacturing engineers to ensure program leadership understands the root causes/drivers of cost and schedule issues.

The U.S. Air Force is developing a new Long-Range Stand-Off (LRSO) nuclear missile. The service plans to field the LRSO by 2030 to replace the current, General Dynamics (now Raytheon) AGM-129A Advanced Cruise Missile (ACM) that originally entered service in 1991. In May 2021, the Air Force awarded an Engineering and Manufacturing Design (EMD) contract to Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, Arizona. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB), which is resident at Eglin AFB, Florida, is the System Program Office (SPO) responsible for the acquisition.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Review contractor cost and schedule reporting.
  • Understand manufacturing milestone and the contractor's performance toward meeting them.
  • Analyze contractor performance and determine likely root causes for any cost/schedule impacts.
  • Work with manufacturing engineers to verify technical progress reports align with programmatic reports.

Job Requirements
  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Current DOD Secret Clearance (or US Gov equivalent), must be TS eligible
  • PMP certification is preferred
  • Have 10+ years of experience post degree.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Must have advanced program experience.
