Permobil is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who will manage the accurate accounting of all payroll functions for several business units with confidentiality always at the forefront of their mind. We are looking for a well-spoken individual that can interact with managers, supervisors and our people and culture team. This person should have great communication skills and an analytical mindset, high attention to detail is a MUST.

Responsibilities:

Process and audit employee timesheets to pull hours worked, overtime, and time off into the payroll system in compliance with company policy and federal and state laws
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll changes; including new hires, terminations and changes to rate pay rates.
Timely and accurate processing of biweekly payroll transactions including salaries, commissioned sales, bonuses, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions using outside payroll provider
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws, and best practices.
Responds to all governmental agencies regarding payroll taxes and wage garnishments
Prepare reports and requested analysis, as required
Reconcile and audit multi-state payroll registers, payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions
Respond to and resolve payroll inquires; ensuring payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly
Maintain all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
Provide continuous process improvement recommendations to payroll processes and payroll policies to management and communicate changes appropriately
Own the registration process for new tax jurisdictions
Reconcile biweekly payroll and resolve out-of-balance tax issues
Maintain contact with external payroll provider to ensure compliance and required system updates

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business or other related field or equivalent work experience.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation required.
Minimum four to five years payroll experience.
Experience processing payroll for 1,000 employees or more, with employees in multiple states and Canada.
Knowledge and Skills:

Strong working knowledge of ADP payroll systems and processes.


Strong PC computer skills, including Advanced Excel, Word and Outlook.
Strong written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively interact with other employees to resolve questions and to work effectively within a team.
Good organization skills with a strong attention to detail required.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handling frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
Ability to exercise extreme confidentiality in discussions regarding employee compensation and personal information as well as the company's financial data.
Knowledge of federal, multi-state and local payroll tax laws and regulations required.
General ledger and accounts reconciliation skills preferred.
Strong working knowledge of finance and accounting concepts.
Demonstrated abilities in problem solving.
Adaptable to a fast-changing work environment; able to deliver accurate and on-time payroll regardless of the circumstances.
Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from management to accomplish objectives and deadlines.

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 annually
Vacation or PTO: During initial year of employment: Up to 80 hours of vacation, which will be prorated based upon start date. After initial year of employment, earn 136 vacation hours.
Sick Time: Following 90 days of employment, employees will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked, unless a greater amount is required by state or local law, which will renew each calendar year.

401K eligibility on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment. Permobil offers Safe Harbor matching, with immediate vesting.
