Your Role:As a Pharmacist Supervisor, you will:

  • Directly support patientsby overseeing the prescription and distribution of vital medications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operationsof pharmacists and pharmacy teams and act as thefrontline resourcefor pharmacist questions and escalations.
  • Monitor and supportthe training and development of pharmacy staff and assist inpolicy and procedure developmentfor pharmacy operations.
  • Communicate with prescribersto confirm dosing and administration for safe patient dispensing and Control medicationsby monitoring drug therapies and managing inventory.
  • Identify and report adverse eventsand product complaints in compliance with regulations.
  • Counsel patientson medication usage, potential adverse events, and strategies to minimize risks.
  • Conductoutreach and follow-upwith patients as mandated by regulatory agencies (e.g., REMS).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledgeof pharmacy laws and changes.
  • Complete continuing educationto maintain and renew professional licenses.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Ensurecompliance with program guidelinesand perform related duties as required.
  • Shift Management: Efficiently manage team schedules and workflow assignments to meet client-specific processing requirements.
  • Operational Assessment: Assess the need for overtime and approve scheduled time off, balancing operational demands with team well-being.
  • Performance Management: Provide regular coaching and performance reviews, and implement performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Quality Improvement: Actively participate in the enhancement of operational policies and patient services.
  • Efficiency Analysis: Regularly review staff efficiency and quality of service to identify areas for improvement.
  • Procedural Development: Assist in the creation and revision of pharmacy procedural documents to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Metric Compliance: Collaborate with the leadership team to meet program metrics and operational goals.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cohesively with other Leads and Supervisors, fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Minimum Experience Required:

  • 4+ years of professional experience as a Pharmacist in a retail or specialty pharmacy setting.
  • Experience/knowledge/skill in: Analyzing Information, Administering Medication, Demonstrated sound judgment and decision making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge in FDA Health Regulations, Pharmacology, Managing Processes, Legal Compliance
  • Focus on quality and attention to detail

Education/Qualifications/Certifications and Licenses:

  • B.S. Pharm degree, Pharm.D. degree is preferred, and must possess a current and valid Pharmacist state license, in good standing.
  • Must be proficient with basic computer programs and able to handle multiple requests at one time, as well as ensure that medication orders are reviewed and fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Capable of standing for up to 8 hours at a time and able to bend, sit, stand, and work in front of computer screen for long periods of time
  • Capable of lifting up to 20lbs, if needed
