Role and Responsibilities

An AI Solution Architect plays a pivotal role in leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to design and implement innovative solutions tailored to meet specific business needs. They collaborate closely with partners to understand requirements, find opportunities, and conceptualize AI-driven solutions that drive business value. This involves designing architectures, integrating with existing systems, and being responsible for the development and deployment process.

The AI Solution Architects also provide technical leadership, ensuring that solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with best practices in AI development. Additionally, they stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI technology and continuously refine their strategies to optimize performance and enhance the overall effectiveness of AI solutions.

The Work You May Do

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives.

• Design and architect AI solutions to address specific business challenges and opportunities.

• Select appropriate AI models, algorithms, and technologies based on project requirements.

• Develop and implement scalable and reliable AI architectures.

• Integrate AI solutions with existing systems and infrastructure.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.

• Ensure that AI solutions meet performance, security, and compliance standards.

• Stay updated with advancements in AI technology and industry best practices.

• Drive continuous improvement and optimization of AI solutions..

• Demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.

• Improving operations by conducting systems analysis to understand process and application bottlenecks; and recommending changes in policies and procedures.

• Leverage Agile, CI/CD and DevOps methodologies to deliver high quality product on-time

Who You Are

• You have a knack for transforming and creating AI solutions in cloud platforms leveraging cloud-native tools.

• Ask questions and love to learn

• Desire to get a detailed knowledge of the way AES does business today, and its plans for changes in practices and goals, either leading or supporting.

• You have experience building scalable analytics system architecture using cloud platforms and services (Google Cloud preferred.)

• Love to tinker and understand the "why".

• You have the ability to deal with ambiguity and the flexibility to change direction as additional information becomes available.

• Understand the value and purpose of good project management.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

• Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering or a closely related field; a Master's degree is preferred

• 2 + years of experience developing AI architecture.

• 2 years of development experience leveraging an Agile methodology with experience collaborating on coding projects in Google Cloud Platform

• 2+ years of industry experience with modern programming languages like Python (preferred), Java, etc.

• 1+ years of industry experience with graph databases like Neo4j or TigerGraph (preferred)

• Progressive mindset particularly around deployment models and emerging technologies

• 2 + years of experience in Cloud Engineering, experience in a similar role with demonstrated relationship building skills resulting in traceable, measurable, impactful results

• Experience strategizing, designing, architecting, and leading the deployment of scalable solutions on GCP

• Experience with the primarily handled data services within GCP, including Cloud Bigtable, Dataflow, and BigQuery.

• Experience with the primary handled data solutions that are supported by GCP.

• Experience with using AI Platform, Vertex AI, BigQuery ML to manage and deploy machine learning models.

• Experience with using Google Generative AI and Open AI platforms.

• Experience with using Data Analytics platforms such as Looker, Looker Studio, and PowerBI.

• Prepare demonstrations and proof of concept solutions based on business needs.

• Specify the deliverables of service projects by developing detailed project scopes of work, AI architecture, etc.

• Ability to communicate across business units and the ability to interface with and communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders

• Be part of the technical governance layer overseeing the delivery of AI architecture and solutions.

• Experience with container engines: Kubernetes, Docker, GKE Services

• Hands-on experience working in the Energy & Utilities industry.
