Job Summary: This is a tenure track position that provides academic instruction and student academic support for the Communications, Humanities & the Arts department.

Performs tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction including governance activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Communication required; graduate level course work related to assigned classes; College-level teaching experience

Licensing Requirements: Valid Driver's License

Hiring Range: No Less Than $41,780

Preferred Qualifications: Online teaching experience; Experience teaching in a community college setting

Job Specific Task List:

  • Teaches assigned Communication (or sub discipline) courses. Coordinate, plan, organize, and instruct academic courses according to approved course syllabus. - (Standard)
  • Participates in curriculum development and maintenance. - (Standard)
  • Provides high quality academic support and advising to students including establishing and maintaining a schedule of office hours. - (Standard)
  • Participates in college governance by serving on joint, ad hoc, faculty, campus, division and discipline committees. - (Standard)
  • Participates in college and community service activities. - (Standard)
  • Participates in professional growth activities and maintains awareness of new trends and developments within areas of instructional responsibility. - (Standard)
  • Maintain accurate and complete scholastic records, including attendance records. - (Essential)
  • Maintain scheduled office hours. - (Essential)
  • Strive for the qualities delineated in the criteria for faculty evaluation used by the college. - (Essential)
  • Be thoroughly familiar and comply with all college policies and procedures. - (Essential)
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. - (Essential)
  • Work in a professional, collegial, and team-oriented manner. - (Essential)
