About the Opportunity

The Maintenance Coordinator performs responsible duties in Facilities and Maintenance area of the College. This position handles administrative assignments, processing all work order requests, and associated spreadsheets and paperwork with minimal supervision in achieving positive results.

Essential Job Functions and Duties

* Assists in maintaining open lines of communication and rapport with personnel such as: maintenance staff, senior management, faculty, and staff.

* Utilizes technology for assembling and disseminating maintenance correspondence.

* Input data, runs reports, manages Facilities work-order website.

* Input data, runs reports, manages Facilities hard-key website.

* Utilizes technology to develop/implement preventative maintenance plans.

* Coordinates preventative maintenance routines in conjunction with Facilities Plant managers and/or Senior maintenance mechanics.

* Assists with the maintenance of departmental files and records.

* Works with the maintenance team to accomplish long and short-term maintenance plans of the college.

* Oversees inventory management.

* Monitors usage of tools and equipment to ensure tools are readily available for assigned tasks.

* Performs other appropriate duties as may be assigned by the Facilities Plant Managers, and other divisional staff members.

* Operate standard office equipment such as but not limited to personal computer, copier, adding machine, multi-line telephone, and typewriter.

* Proficient in Microsoft office products

* Good oral and written communication skills

* Good general office skills and files/records management

* Ability to maintain confidential information

* Ability to work under general direction and infrequent supervision, planning details to attain definite objectives

* Makes decisions within broad limitations of policies and within accepted standards

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people

* Ability to read and use a tape measure

* Read, Write, and Speak English fluently

Working Conditions/Additional Information

* Sometimes requires coming in on evenings, weekends, holidays, and days when the college is scheduled closed.

* Exposure to several disagreeable elements, or factors such as dirty, heat, dampness, dust, and noise.

* Must have the ability to work proficiently in a busy, multi-office work environment.

* Must have the ability to walk distances, navigate stairs, and climb ladders up to 6 feet.

* Must be flexible and adapt to changes.

* Must possess a VALID Florida driver's license.

* Must possess own transportation.

Salary and Benefits Information

  • This position is a level C15. Please see below for specific salary range.

Required Education

* High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Experience

* One year of administrative/clerical experience.

Preferred Experience

* 2-5 years of administrative/clerical experience preferred.

* Experience in a maintenance environment supporting maintenance management activities and personnel preferred.
