Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time

Open Until Filled.

$25.34 to $27.87 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Performs skilled technical work acting as the Crew Chief supervising a crew of Survey Field Technicians in performing survey and asset data collection projects, creating vertical networks, and performing construction layout. Work includes adhering to and maintaining established Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) procedures for data collection and layout work and ensuring regulatory compliance with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) plans and procedures and OSHA-required confined space safety procedures.

REQUIREMENTS: Six (6) years of field survey experience, which includes one (1) year of experience as a Junior Party Chief. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess a current Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must possess current documentation of successful completion of an OSHA-compliant Confined Space Entry Training course, in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.146. Must have current documentation of completion, or complete within six (6) months of employment or promotion to Senior Survey Crew Chief, a Florida Survey & Mapping Society (FSMS) Florida Law course and receive a passing score on the associated examination. Must complete, within twelve (12) months of employment or promotion to the Senior Survey Crew Chief classification, an approved six (6) hour continuing education (CEU) course offered by the Florida Survey & Mapping Society (FSMS). Must have successfully completed all of the classes for all three (3) phases of the Brevard County Employee Development Program and received a passing score on each of the phase examinations. Must have successfully completed a Brevard County-sponsored 7-Habits of Highly Effective People, 5 Choices to Extraordinary Productivity, Emotional Intelligence, or another County-approved leadership training course.In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster which may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
