Job Overview:

The Credentialing Supervisor, Medical Staff Office, works under the direct supervision of the Director Medical Staff Services. Duties include: supervision of Medical Staff Credentialing Team; guiding and ensuring appropriate follow-up and action to address any potential concerns; credentialing/ processing of applications for initial appointment and reappointments; development and maintenance of a credible process including auditing of individual applications. This position provides needed support and guidance to medical staff leaders in determining the competency of providers to ensure high quality, safe patient care, reduce the risk of organizational liability for poor care and/or patient harm and physical ability to discharge patient care responsibilities and requires ability to work independently, exercise critical thinking and judgment in identifying potential concerns regarding an applicant's licensure, education, training, current competence are required. This position also requires ability to prioritize numerous tasks in fast paced environment ; excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with high level of professionalism and diplomacy.

Job Requirements:

High School Degree or GED
NAMSS certification: CPCS or CPMSM
Medical Staff credentialing
Database management
5-7 year's experience Healthcare/ Medical Staff Services

Job Responsibilities:

Timely and accurate completion of credentialing medical staff applications include processing and approval of temporary privileges.
Process assigned reappointment applications fully and accurately to completion per deadlines.
Conducts monthly meetings and roundings with MSO Credentialing Team to prepare final drafts of Joint Credential Committee agenda and completes assigned file audits in prescribed timeframe.
Participates as a team member, contributes to process improvement initiatives, standardization initiatives, identifies barriers, and willingly accepts new assignments. Performs other duties in a professional and timely manner.

Conduct department huddles. Generally, clinical departments hold daily huddles, non-clinical hold weekly huddles.
Regularly Round on Team Members, using questions from the rounding log.
- 25 or fewer team members = monthly
- 26-50 team members = every other month
- 51+ (and optional team members) = quarterly

Lead monthly team meetings using meeting agenda template; review stoplight report; cascade key leadership messages.
