Overview

SMS is seeking a Mid-level IT Asset Manager to support the Air Force 26NOS in all aspects of Air Force Intranet Control Support (AFINC) enterprise operations. In this role, the candidate will maintain both software and hardware IT assets and their utilization. The positions will ensure Information Technology Equipment Custodians (ITEC's) maintain accurate inventory control of all IT Asset and also act as liaison with Base Equipment Custodian Officer (BECO) to manage shipping and receiving of IT equipment. Responsibilities
    Update IT inventory accounts to reflect the current assets of the 26 NOS business operations.
  • Verify and validate network equipment shipments for accuracy and condition.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized storage locations, ensuring items are properly inventoried and sorted prior to implementation.
  • Maintain monthly equipment Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI's) and assist 26 NOS Quality Assurance personnel in performing equipment evaluations of 26NOS managed IT assets.
  • Provide equipment inventory reports to the Program Management Office as requested.
  • Assist with the removal, storage, and decommissioning of assets between the unit and BECO.
  • Provide recommendations for ways to streamline asset inventory and management.
  • Responsible for the inventory of local software licenses and ensuring usage within the purchased limits.
  • Maintains IT Equipment Custodian Folder
  • Notifies the BECO of changes in status IT hardware assets (receipt, move, transfer, deployment, disposal)
  • Notifies leads of items lost, damaged or stolen.
  • Complete and provide weekly, monthly, quarterly reports as necessary.
  • Capturing, maintain, and manage the life-cycle license entitlement of software purchased.
  • Import assets (software and hardware) information and filtering the discovered data via applications provided.
  • Document all licensed software to include installation history (i.e., location of software installations, license counts, agreement expirations and users).
  • Submit a monthly report that captures key information about the software and hardware in production.
  • Develop, maintain, and validate all Asset Management inventories.
  • Accountable for all assigned accountable IT hardware assets within their respective custodian accounts and follows Air Force policy for management of those devices.
  • Complete special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications

Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel
  • Ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Familiar with computer hardware, network and peripheral devices for identification and tracking purposes
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of: MECM, ForeScout, ACAS and DPAS (Defense Property Accountability System)
  • Knowledge of Remdey or other ticketing systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education/Certification(s):
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a Business Management or MIS related field. Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Must meet both 8140 and 8750 certification requirements as outlined by customer.
  • Required to obtain and maintain: a DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or higher.
  • Required to obtain or maintain: a DoDM 8140.03 Computing Environment/Operating System (CE/OS) requirement(s): ITIL v4 Foundations

Clearance: Active DoD Secret required
