Job Description

The Technical Application Development Lead guides technology adoption across product teams, builds, maximizes the capabilities and skills within the Chapter, and manages and supports (employees and contingent labor). The Software Engineering Team Lead is responsible for the development and growth of their members and the building of competencies. They are responsible for team composition optimization, reviewing priorities and assessing resource and/or backlog redirection, metrics associated with talent evolution, and all other administrative responsibilities within the Chapter.


What You'll Be Doing

The Software Engineering Team Lead is a technologist who identifies relevant technology trends and tools that could improve skillsets and overall technology product delivery. The Software Engineering Team Lead acts as a hands-on practice leader. This role contributes directly to the team's success, acquires domain knowledge, and engages with solution architects and product owners as a technical SME to ensure alignment of strategic direction for the technology managed within their area.

  • Work in a team with other smart AIS employees using cutting-edge technologies to solve challenging business problems.
  • Build elegant, scalable, extensible, cost-effective solutions with an eye toward innovation and agility.
  • Utilize problem-solving and decision-making skills to understand client pain points and to self-troubleshoot as challenges arise.
  • Collaborate with other development team members and project managers to deliver solutions that surpass client expectations while meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Work in an agile environment with participation in daily stand-ups/scrum.
  • Design, write, test, troubleshoot, and document application code
  • Learn new technologies and know industry standards, best practices, and trends.

Location and Travel Details

Remote with occasional travel.


Profile of Success

  • 7+ years' experience as a Software Engineer or Application Developer developing software solutions using technology (such as C#, .NET, REST API design and development, OOPs, SQL, Javascript/React, Angular APIs including REST ).
  • 2+ years' experience with API Management Tools and eventing streaming technologies like Kafka
  • 2+ years' experience managing, coaching, mentoring, and developing a highly motivated technical workforce & Provide mentorship to junior Developers.
  • Design, write, unit test, and document application code to successfully deliver project-based work.
  • Experience interviewing, recruiting, hiring, assessing, and retaining technical personnel.
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of modern software engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills.
  • Experience working with architects and product owners to understand capacity and demands and optimize these skills on teams.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in fast-paced Agile environments is a plus.
  • Recognized servant leader.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or Management of Information Systems.
