Job Summary

The staff accountant plays a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the company. Responsible for various accounting tasks, this position ensures accurate financial records and compliance with regulatory standards. Working closely with the finance team, the staff accountant performs a range of duties including financial reporting, general ledger management, accounts, and financial analysis. They contribute to the overall success of the organization by providing valuable insights and support for strategic decision-making.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control processes, including inventory valuation, physical inventory counts, and reconciliation of inventory balances. Collaborate with operations team to optimize inventory levels.
  • General Ledger Management: Record and reconcile transactions in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP), regulations, and internal policies.
  • Accounting Close Duties: Contribute to the month-end and year-end accounting close processes.
  • Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software and spreadsheets effectively for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
  • Communication: Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to provide financial information and support business objectives.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
  • Assist Finance Managers, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Experience with accounting and finance operations.
  • Comfortable with basic accounting concepts (A/R and A/P).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain detail-oriented in a fast-paced, high-volume and deadline driven environment.
  • Works well within a team.




Education and/or Experience

Two plus years in an accounting related environment. A 4-year college degree required, accounting major and/or seeking CPA a plus.


Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Physical environmental factors of this position include those found in typical business office environment or home office environment.

Requires use of general office equipment and personal computer equipment.

Ability to travel. Various means of travel may be required, including auto and air travel. This position requires travel:
