Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll Processing and Accounting:
  • Process payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform reconciliations between payroll data, general ledger accounts, and bank statementsand resolve any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with HR to validate employee information, deductions, and changes.
2. Tax Filings and Compliance:
  • Prepare and file federal and state employment tax reports on time.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and ensure accurate tax calculations.
  • Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax agencies.
  • Prepare and distribute W-2 forms to employees, ensuring compliance with regulatory deadlines.
  • Reconcile W-2 data with payroll records and tax filings.
3. Reconciliations and Reporting:
  • Generate payroll-related reports for management and auditors.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities related to payroll.
4. System Updates and Testing:
  • Collaborate with IT and HR teams to test and implement payroll system updates.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy following system changes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any payroll system issues.
5. Team Collaboration and Support:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and IT, to ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Support other team members when necessary, contributing to a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Provide guidance and share expertise with team members as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong accountant with 2-3 years of payroll accounting experience, including federal and state employment taxes.
  • Full cycle general ledger accounting background, with experience in posting journal entries and preparing account reconciliations.
  • Proven ability to work in a high-speed, fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience working with large ERP systems, (PeopleSoft preferred).
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the willingness to support colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new processes and systems independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and implement solutions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data processing.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues at all levels.
Pay commensurate with experience.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;
  • other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
