Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  2. Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  3. Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting.
  4. Coordinate and support external audit and tax compliance efforts, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
  5. Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the accounting function.
  7. Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and communicate potential impacts to senior management.
  8. Train and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development and maximize their performance.
  9. Assist with special projects and ad hoc analysis as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Previous experience in a similar industry or role is a plus.
