Job Summary

The Manager, Sales Operations plays a critical role in bridging the gap between the finance and sales teams. They collaborate with the sales team to provide financial insights, analysis, and strategic guidance in order to help to drive business performance. The Manager Sales Operations serves as a trusted advisor to Sales leadership, influence outcomes and business decision-making, and support Sales in daily operations.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct financial analysis to support sales forecasting, budgeting, and planning (annual planning and long-range planning) activities.

  • Establish standardized reporting, including sales performance, key financial metrics, and variance analysis.

  • Develop reporting capabilities to show both pipeline and revenue generating business using software tools including Salesforce.com and Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ).

  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and manage sales pipeline budgets.

  • Lead the creation of accurate and realistic sales forecasts.

  • Monitor actual performance against budget and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.

  • Assist Director, FP&A in the design, development and administration of Sales Incentive Plans; lead annual sales goal setting process and partner with Sales Leadership to provide annual goal targets as applicable.

  • Manage the Sales Commission plan by ensuring accuracy in the processing of commissions on a monthly basis and quarterly basis.

  • Manage the commissions forecast and work with accounting on capitalization of commissions.

  • Troubleshoot plan discrepancies, targets, and any inbound inquiries from Account Executives, Account Managers, and other Sales Leaders.

  • Lead the automation of commission calculations in Salesforce.com or similar software reporting.

  • Collaborate with other business functions, such as marketing and operations, to align financial goals and strategies.

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, providing actionable insights to drive improvements.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of sales programs and initiatives through financial analysis and identify financial risks and opportunities associated with sales activities.

  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on sales opportunities.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

  • 8+ years of related, progressive experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).

  • 3+ years of people management experience or experience in roles showing progressive leadership.

  • Expertise in sales automation and Salesforce.com.

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, preferably in a finance, sales or business partnering role.

  • Ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights and build financial models.

  • Strong familiarity with sales operations, CRM systems, and sales performance metrics.

  • Strong understanding of financial principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in related field.

  • Professional finance qualification.

  • Healthcare/Technology experience.

  • Experience working with a network business model.

  • Pipeline management and sales compensation experience.

  • Ability to develop actionable metrics in support of client, segment, and corporate initiatives.

  • Demonstrated high quality customer service delivery and the ability to proactively build internal relationships and trust.

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $140,050 - $171,150 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
