Twin Cities PBS (TPT) is one of the most innovative public media organizations in the country. Every day, TPT uses the power of media to advance the arts, spur learning, help young people succeed and help adults age vitally. TPT presents extraordinary PBS programming and also produces award-winning content for the national PBS system.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The General Audience Engagement Specialist leads in-person and digital activation of media-infused projects that serve adult learner, intergenerational groups (i.e. families) and educators. This includes but is not limited to partner organization recruitment, professional development, activity development and implementation and general project support. Programming is performed externally at community sites, online and in the TPT Facility.

Salary: $60k - $70K Annually (depending on qualifications)

Hybrid Work Environment: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Activations Producer (95% of time)

  • Strategizes, plans and implements programming in adult and intergenerational learning spaces at TPT and in the community.
  • Adapts existing instructional and learning resources, and creates new one, in response to practitioners' and learners' needs and strengths.
  • Develops and leads in-person and virtual professional development trainings and workshops for educators of adult learners at participating partner organizations.
  • Leads implementation of media-aligend activities including screening, panels and discussions, and/or assists and supports trained educators in best practice-based activity implementation.
  • Researches, recruits and establishes relationships with partner organizations, with a goal of expanding and/or refining TPT's network of lifelong learners.
  • In parternship with General Audience Engagement Manager, serves as a contact for participating and new partner organizations, with a goal of sustaining and expanding the relationship.
  • Collaborates with TPT's Director of Evaluation to assess and report on project efficacy.
  • Supports administrative processes like contract execution, credit cards and reimbursements.
  • Assists the wider Lifelong Learning Team in the various capacities needed for project success.
  • Provides occasional support to production teams and resource management for education-focused projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other duties as assigned (5% of the time)

  • Participate as an active member of the Lifeling Learning team. contribute to shared goals and collaborate with colleagues on achieve,emt of priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, communications or relevant field.
  • Minimimum of 5+ years of non-profit and/or education program experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in developing and facilitating culturally responsive programming for diverse audiences.

Preferred Experience

  • Sees diverse experiences and perspectives as the essentual compnents of a successful educational initiative.
  • Familiarity with collaborative approaches.
  • Research experience, includin one or more of the following is also a plus: focus groups, interviews, quantitative data analysis, creative arts-based research, participatory action, user experience research, community-based research.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Able to adpat and tailor communication to meet audience needs, with bi/multilingual abilitypreferred (with an emphasis on Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Karen and English).
  • Strong organizational skills, demonstrated ability to handle multiple task simultaneously, work independently, and ability to meet deadlines for time sensitive assignments.
  • Fluent user of Microsoft Office (e.g. PowerPoint, word, Ecel) and Teams.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Access to reliable transportation and ability to travel.
