Who We Need

Logistics Policy Sustainment Department (LPS) provides the interface between Marine Corps distribution management personnel and those organizations supporting them. The LPS Mission is to plan, program, provide policy, execute oversight and management of expeditionary and enterprise logistics and supply chain business missions to support the Marine Corps' current and future logistics and supply chain capabilities. Focus areas are people, aptitudes, programs, policy and compliance testing in support of Ground Supply, Medical Logistics, Financial Improvement, Audit Readiness and Operational Contract Support, this includes advocating on behalf of the Marine Corps logistics enterprise in matters impacting the fielding and sustainment of key warfighting equipment.

The Technical Writer / Administrative Assistant will assist LPS in overseeing and managing the planning, facilitation, coordination, synchronization, and execution of LPS operations. They will synchronize and coordinate teams and personnel in the completion and production of high-quality informational products; work effectively with senior leadership in developing communications support for strategic initiative; present complex ideas succinctly for senior leadership; and utilize knowledge of Marine Corps structures, missions, and programs for organizations involved in logistics activities.

The ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is a requirement for personnel assigned to this position.

  • Coordinate with other staff, higher and lower commands, and principal action officers.
  • Coordinate staff work in coordination with LPS leadership to formulate comments, correspondence, decision papers based on staff input, and personal involvement in the issues of the Branch.
  • Support LPS leadership by tracking all issues and taskings that must be resolved or completed by LPD staff.
  • Provide daily on-going support by providing recommendations for draft policy guidance and prepare point papers, information papers, formal correspondence, Naval messages, briefings, and systems support documents in accordance with Navy Correspondence Manual.
  • Administer the LPS organizational Department Of the Navy (DON) Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2), including initiating, monitoring and maintaining all tasks.
  • Coordinate scheduling of meetings, conferences, record dates, locations, and attendees on the Advocacy SharePoint site to share information on upcoming events to include consolidating briefs to ensure the most up-to-date presentations are available in support of presenters.
  • Monitor the status of all action items (tasks & issues) after each LPS conference to include an After Action Report (AAR).
  • Organization and Prioritization are the core elements need. Must know how to keep yourself and others organized and how to determine which tasks are the most important in a given list.
