JOB SUMMARY:

Credit Analysts are responsible to assist in the support and management of a regional commercial loan portfolio. A Credit Analyst will analyze the financial information on existing customers to assess the borrower's and guarantor's financial condition and ability to repay, perform periodic or annual reviews and covenant tests, and assist in monitoring the risk profile of a customer. Credit Analyst candidates must be able to perform many job functions independently. A Credit Analyst should be able to analyze basic common loan types with limited training and should be able to handle slightly more complicated analyses with direct training and guidance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze financial information for existing customers for loan requests, renewals, modifications, and aid the credit decision making and portfolio maintenance process.
  • Prepare and present financial information and other information in the required format (spreads, charts, memos) and analyze in detail for trends, ratios, cash flow, etc.
  • Responsibilities include the preparation of documentation in support of the management of the portfolio.
  • Responsible for preparing department reports as directed.
  • Responsible for assisting other analysts in an accurate and expeditious manner since growth and skill development is achieved through working with both experienced and junior team members and Commercial Bankers supported.
  • Adhere to Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) from four-year accredited institution with a major in finance, accounting or business preferred.
  • Up to two years' commercial credit analysis experience or equivalent. Competence may be demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, or education. Formal commercial credit training preferred.
  • Ability to develop and sustain analytic and risk management skills in the management of a portfolio.
  • Gain familiarity with various industries and commercial property types.
  • Build experience evaluating economic and market conditions in the markets served.
  • Develop experience analyzing collateral and collateral valuation.
  • Expand knowledge of policies, procedures and operations of commercial lending.
