Starting Pay: $21.02/hr, After 1 Year: $22.83/hr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for sanitation duties in the processing department including:

  • Cleaning drains, pipes, walls, equipment and any other environmental areas in processing area
  • Sweeping, mopping and scrubbing production floor
  • Handle and mix chemicals necessary for sanitation duties
  • Active communication with leadership and co-workers to clean areas safely during operation
  • Complete tasks on the Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Operate cleaning systems and equipment as trained and specified
  • Empty trash and remove debris
  • Adherence to all plant GMP and sanitation policies
  • Responsible for general plant cleanliness with the expectation of being inspection ready 24/7.
  • Compliance with OSHA regulations and all company safety policies and procedures

Skills and Competencies:

  • Standing: Long periods (a minimum of 12 hours)
  • Walking: Long periods
  • Bending: Frequently
  • Lifting: Heavy (50+ lbs) occasionally
  • Carrying: Heavy (40-60 lbs) occasionally
  • Pushing/Pulling: under 75 lbs without assistance frequently
  • Will be wearing chemical protection gear for the majority of the shift
  • Factory environment
  • Varying noise and heat levels

Performance Standards:

  • Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct, employment procedures and responsibilities as described in the HP Hood Guidebook and applicable site supplement.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental protocols, procedures and training. Maintain a safe work environment at all times and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct safety concerns.
  • Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices, including GMP dress code standards.
  • Responsible for reporting to work in a condition to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences according to the Call-Off Procedure and Attendance Policy.

SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:

Support SQF by the following:

  • Adhere to all food safety and food quality requirements as well as the regulatory authorities with jurisdiction over our products and processes.
  • Maintain food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Site Specific Requirements:

  • Will be wearing chemical protection gear for the majority of the shift
  • Factory environment
  • Varying noise and heat levels.

Environmental Concerns:

  • May be subject to exposure to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products including allergens.
  • May be subject to exposure to chemicals involved in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility.
